Open the disk image and drag Sketchbug to Applications. If macOS blocks it, right-click the app and choose Open.
AppImage runs without installing. Debian/Ubuntu can use the .deb when it is available.

Make the AppImage executable with chmod +x, then run it.
Cloud sketches stay in sync with sketchbug.art. Local sketches can stay on this computer.

Yes. It uses the same free and Pro plans as the website. Hosting a live sketch session still requires Pro; joining one does not.
Absolutely. The desktop app is optional. Your sketches live in the same account either way.
That can happen before Apple notarization. Right-click Sketchbug in Applications, choose Open, then confirm. After that, it opens normally.
