Sketchbug for Windows, Mac, and Linux

Draw on your computer with the same account, library, brushes, and live sketch sessions as the web app. Sign in with Google or email after you install.

Installer for 64-bit PCs. Sign in with the same account you use on the web.

Windows 10 or later

Coming soon

If SmartScreen appears, choose More info, then Run anyway.

Mac

Apple Silicon first, with Intel if we published that build. Same library as the browser.

macOS 12 or later

Coming soon

Open the disk image and drag Sketchbug to Applications. If macOS blocks it, right-click the app and choose Open.

Linux

AppImage runs without installing. Debian/Ubuntu can use the .deb when it is available.

64-bit Linux with a desktop environment

Coming soon

Make the AppImage executable with chmod +x, then run it.

What you get

Your library, on the desktop

Cloud sketches stay in sync with sketchbug.art. Local sketches can stay on this computer.

The same drawing tools

Pen, pencil, brushes from Brush Hub, fonts from Font Hub, layers, and live sketch.

Works offline for local files

Keep sketches on disk when you want them close. Sign in when you need the cloud library.

Common questions

Is the desktop app free?

Yes. It uses the same free and Pro plans as the website. Hosting a live sketch session still requires Pro; joining one does not.

Can I keep using the browser?

Absolutely. The desktop app is optional. Your sketches live in the same account either way.

macOS says the app cannot be opened

That can happen before Apple notarization. Right-click Sketchbug in Applications, choose Open, then confirm. After that, it opens normally.
